LPA develops into cyclone 'Bising'

MANILA, Philippines — The low pressure area located east of Mindanao strengthens into a tropical depression and was named Bising.

Bising was located 735 kilometers east of Hinatuan, Surigao del Sur as of 4 p.m, and is forecasted to move west northwest at 13 kilometers per hour (kph).

The tropical depression has maximum sustained winds of 45 kph near the center, and a gustiness of up to 55 kph.

It is estimated to be outside of the Philippine area of responsibility by Wednesday afternoon.

Moderate to occasionally heavy rains are expected estimated within the 300-kilometer diameter of Bising. No tropical cyclone warning signals, however, have been issued.

Mindanao, Bicol, Eastern and Central Visayas regions and the provinces of Quezon and Aurora are likely to experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms.

Cloudy skies with light rains, meanwhile, are expected over the Cagayan Valley region.

Metro Manila, the Ilocos and Cordillera regions, and the rest of Central Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rains.

The rest of the country, meanwhile, will experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.
