MANILA, Philippines — State weather bureau PAGASA said Tropical Depression Auring has weakened into a low pressure area (LPA) as of 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
At 8 a.m., the LPA was estimated to be at 40 kilometers east of Mactan City in Cebu.
According to PAGASA, tropical cyclone warning signal no. 1 in areas mentioned previously are now lifted.
The weather system, however, is still expected to bring moderate and occasionally heavy rains over Bicol region and the Samar provinces.
PAGASA warns residents in affected areas of possible flash floods and landslides.
Meanwhile, the CALABARZON region and provinces of Mindoro, Marinduque and Romblon are expected to experience light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms.
