Poe repeats: FPJ not keen on Libingan ng Mga Bayani burial
MANILA, Philippines – Sen. Grace Poe, daughter of late presidential candidate and veteran action star Fernando “FPJ” Poe Jr. on Wednesday reiterated she is not open to transferring her father’s remains to the Libingan ng Mga Bayani in Taguig City.
Poe said there were suggestions to move FPJ’s remains to the national heroes’ cemetery when he was named national artist. However, she said she disagrees with these.
Poe said that fans and supporters of her can easily visit him at the North Cemetery where they can also have their pictures taken even with the tarpaulin.
The senator on behalf of her family thanked the supporters who continue to visit her father's grave. She said it is a rare thing to see a dead personality being visited over the years and being introduced to children, which they are honored and grateful for.
Family, friends, and supporters of FPJ commemorate his 12th death anniversary. They held a mass led by Father Larry Faraon and held a short program where actor John Arcilla sang for the veteran actor.
