MANILA, Philippines – Around five more tropical cyclones are expected to enter the country until the end of the year, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said yesterday.

Based on PAGASA’s climatological data, one to three cyclones normally visit the Philippines in November, while one to two cyclones usually enter the country in December.

A total 12 cyclones have entered the Philippines so far this year. The last two cyclones – Karen and Lawin – left billions of pesos worth of damage in several agricultural provinces in Luzon.

PAGASA senior weather forecaster Robert Sawi said stronger cyclones usually hit the country in the last quarter of the year.

Meanwhile, PAGASA said fair weather is expected to prevail in most parts of the country in the next three days.

Today, cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and thunderstorms will be experienced over Visayas, Mindanao and the province of Palawan.
