Duterte maintains 'excellent' trust rating

MANILA, Philippines — President Rodrigo Duterte's trust rating steadied in his first three months in office, according to the latest Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey.

The chief executive scored a net trust rating of +76 in the survey conducted from September 24 to 27.

Out of 1,200 respondents nationwide, 83 percent said that they have "much trust" with the president while 8 percent said that they have "little trust." Meanwhile, 9 percent were undecided.

Duterte yielded an "excellent" trust rating based on the latest survey. SWS classifies at least +70 as excellent.

The president scored the highest net trust rating in Mindanao with +92 while he scored the lowest in Luzon with +69 which is "very good". He obtained +76 and + 73 in the National Capital Region and Visayas, respectively.

Duterte's net trust rating remained "excellent" in most socioeconomic classes with +72 and + 78 in class ABC and class D, respectively, while he obtained +67 in class E.

The chief executive scored a slightly higher net trust rating among men with +77 while he registered +74 among women.

Duterte began his term last June 30 with an "excellent" net trust rating of +79.
