MNLF faction says Davao blast suspects deserve heaviest penalty

MANILA, Philippines — The largest of the Moro National Liberation Front's (MNLF) three factions on Sunday recommended the severest punishment possible for the culprits in the Davao City bombing once identified via a proper probe.
Former Cotabato City Mayor Muslimin Sema, chairman of the largest and most politically active group in the MNLF, condemned the incident and branded its perpetrators as “non-humans” who deserve the heaviest penalty Malacañang could impose.
“The perpetrators must be hunted down wherever they are and be meted with the severest punishment the government can do,” Sema said.
The Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) on Saturday also condemned the bombing, urging President Rodrigo Duterte to exhaust his powers in putting the bombers behind bars.
Ghadzali Jaafar, MILF’s vice chair for political affairs, said they are saddened by the incident, something they never expected to happen in Davao City, hometown of Duterte.
