'Habagat' continues to dump rains in Metro Manila, other parts of Philippines

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the southwest monsoon or "hanging habagat" will continue to bring rains over some parts of the country on Saturday.

In its advisory, the weather bureau said Metro Manila, Cavite, Bataan and Zambales will be most affected by the habagat. Residents in the areas are warned against possible flashfloods and landslides.

Light to moderate rains with isolated thunderstorms were also forecast over Western Visayas and the rest of Luzon.

The low pressure area spotted off Itbayat, Batanes is expected to leave the Philippine Area of Responsibility in the next few hours.
