Philstar.com

MANILA, Philippines — The Senate on Monday approved the organization and chairmanship of 12 more Senate committees for the 17th Congress in a session presided by Senate President Aquilino “Koko” Pimentel III.

The constitution of the remaining committees came after the Senate last July 25 approved 21 of the 39 committees. Due to this, only six more blocs are left for organization and chairmanship.

During the election of chairpersons of committee, the Senate adopted Senate Resolution No. 68, which separated the Senate Committee on Games, Amusement and Sports into two new standing committees — the Senate Committee on Games and Amusement and the Senate Committee on Sports.

Sen. Vicente “Tito” Sotto III moved for the election of the chairpersons.
