Signal No. 1 still up in Luzon, Visayas as 'Carina' accelerates

MANILA, Philippines – Seven provinces are still under storm signal due to Tropical Depression Carina, state weather bureau PAGASA said Saturday.

The provinces in Luzon under storm signal are Catanduanes, Camarines Sur, Albay and Sorsogon.

While Visayas provinces under storm signal include Northern Samar, Eastern Samar and Samar.

"Carina" maintains its strength with maximum winds of 55 kph near the center, with its eye located at 155 km East of Catarman, Northern Samar as of 7:00 a.m.

Its movement is 15 kph northwest, and is predicted to be in 225 km East Southeast of Casiguran, Aurora by Sunday morning.

If it continues to accelerate, "Carina" is predicted to be outside of the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) by Wednesday morning.
