MANILA, Philippines — Defeated vice presidential candidate Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. filed an electoral protest to challenge the election of incoming Vice President Leni Robredo before the Presidential Electoral Tribunal at the Supreme Court on Wednesday.
The petition includes 20,000 pages of annexes consisting of affidavits and other files.
According to a report from Bilang Pilipino, Marcos wants the tribunal to set aside the proclamation of Robredo and declare him as the duly elected vice president of the Philippines.

Based on the final official tally of the National Board of Canvassers, Robredo won the vice presidential race by a slim margin with 14,418,817 while Marcos placed second with 14,155,344 votes.
Abakada Party-list Rep. Jonathan de la Cruz, Marcos's political adviser, earlier told The STAR that they have gathered enough evidence to demand for a recount in at least 30 areas.
According to reports, the Marcos camp wants to nullify the election results in Lanao del Sur, Maguindanao and Basilan where alleged discrepancies were noted.
The Marcos camp also wants a recount in 22 provinces and five cities.
The protest was filed a day before Vice President-elect Leni Robredo takes her oath of office as the second highest government executive.
