MANILA, Philippines – “I know he might attend.”

This is what veteran lawyer Vitaliano Aguirre II said when asked if president-elect Rodrigo Duterte would attend his proclamation.

Speaking to reporters on Friday, Aguirre said not to believe Duterte if he is saying improbable things.

"Sabi naman niya e, huwag siya paniwalaan 'pag improbable ang sinasabi niya," said Aguirre, whom Duterte named to be his justice secretary.

Congress, sitting as a board of canvassers, is set to proclaim Duterte as president and Leni Robredo as vice president on Monday.

Earlier, Duterte said the only event he would attend would be his oath taking as president on June 30.
