Duterte, Marcos top overseas vote

MANILA, Philippines – It’s Rodrigo Duterte for president and Ferdinand   Marcos Jr. for vice president in overseas absentee voting.

Based on the Commission on Elections’ (Comelec) final but unofficial tally, Duterte and Marcos garnered the biggest number of votes from Filipinos abroad.

Data posted by Comelec Commissioner Rowena Guanzon indicated that Duterte completely routed his opponents while Marcos obtained nearly twice the votes garnered by his closest rival.

Duterte had a total of 313,346 as compared to 41,263 of Liberal Party (LP) candidate Manuel Roxas II.

Marcos got a total of 176,669 OAV votes as against 89,935 votes of LP vice presidential candidate Leni Robredo.

Based on Comelec data, Duterte dominated the voting in all Philippine posts, except for the Vatican, where Roxas got the highest votes.

In the vice presidential race, Marcos got the biggest number of votes from 49 out of total 59 Philippine posts.

The other Philippines posts – including Agana, Canberra, Jakarta, Vatican, New Delhi, Yangon, Berne, The Hague and Port Moresby – went for Robredo.

The seven-member Comelec, sitting as the National Board of Canvassers, completed Saturday the canvassing of the Certificates of Canvass  from the 59 Philippine posts abroad.
