MANILA, Philippines – Presidents come and go, but career officials and employees stay.
As far as Malacañang is concerned, a transition committee from the outgoing administration of President Aquino to the incoming government is not a big deal since it only involves a change of management.
Presidential Communications Operations Office Secretary Herminio Coloma Jr., who was part of the transition panel then representing Aquino in 2010, said it would always be business as usual for the operations of the Office of the President.
Coloma said it is important that while Cabinet members like him will only serve until noon of June 30 – being coterminous with Aquino – career officials are always there to provide guidance to the incoming administration.
