Marcos remains top VP pick in Pulse Asia survey
MANILA, Philippines – Vice presidential candidate and Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. kept his solo lead in the vice presidential race, according to the latest Pulse Asia released on Sunday
Marcos scored 29 percent, a six-point advantage over rival Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo, who obtained a score of 23 percent in the survey. They were followed by Sen. Francis “Chiz” Escudero with 20 percent.
Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano placed fourth with 16 percent, followed by Sen. Gregorio “Gringo” Honasan with four percent and Sen. Antonio “Sonny” Trillanes IV with three percent.
Marcos widened his lead in National Capital Region and Balance Luzon as he obtained 43 and 36 percent of the votes from respondents respectively. Robredo took the lead in the Visayas with 35 percent while leading presidential candidate Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte’s running mate Cayetano is the most preferred vice presidential candidate in Mindanao with 32 percent of votes.

The poll, commissioned by ABS-CBN, was conducted from April 12 to 17 nationwide, two days after the first vice presidential debate held at the University of Santo Tomas. The survey had a sample size of 4,000 respondents and an error margin of +/-1.5.
On the other hand, the NCR survey also conducted in the same period had a total of 450 respondents with an error margin of +/-4.6 while for the Balance Luzon, 925 were surveyed in North and Central Luzon with an error margin of +/-3.2. A total of 875 were polled in Southern Luzon from April 12 to 16 with an error margin of +/-3.3.
For Visayas, 850 respondents participated from April 12 to 16 with an error margin of +/-3.4, while 900 respondents were surveyed in Mindanao from the same period with an error margin of +/-3.3.
The recent Pulse Asia survey also showed that Marcos dominated classes ABC and the biggest voting bloc D with 39 and 31 percent respectively, while Robredo led Class E with 26 percent.
Meanwhile, Escudero was the top second choice for Vice President with 27 percent.
Marcos, the running mate of Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago also took the solo lead in the vice presidential survey in the Pulse Asia survey released last Tuesday.
