Miriam says she's 'perfectly normal'
MANILA, Philippines - Amid questions on the presidential candidate’s capability to lead the country due to health condition, Sen. Miriam Defensor-Santiago Friday night confirmed that her health is back to normal.
“I’m perfectly normal now as you can tell just from my voice and from the way I speak,” she said in a one-minute video posted on her Facebook page.
In the video, Santiago thanked her supporters and volunteers for their sacrifices during the campaign sorties.
The senator confirmed she is in good shape after taking a new anti-cancer medication.
Santiago added she is happy to hear reports that “many are switching sides” to support her candidacy.
“We all know ang panahon na ito ay magdesisyon ang mga undecided voters. Crucial, napaka-importante itong naiiwan na mga araw na pwede nating bilangin, kaya sana magtaluloy lang kayo sa inyong malasakit para sabay-sabay tayong pumunta ng Malacañang,” she said.
Santiago confirmed her attendance in the third and last Commission on Elections-led presidential debate in Pangasinan on Sunday.
