Duterte, Marcos maintain lead in Pulse Asia survey

MANILA, Philippines — Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte and Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos remain the top contenders for the presidential and vice presidential race, respectively, according to the latest Pulse Asia survey released on Tuesday.

Duterte scored 32 percent, which is 7 points ahead from Sen. Grace Poe's 25 percent in the survey commissioned by ABS-CBN Corp.

Vice President Jejomar Binay ranked third with 20 percent, followed by former Interior Secretary Manuel "Mar" Roxas II with 18 percent and Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago with 1 percent.

Marcos, the running mate of Santiago, maintained the solo lead in the vice presidential survey with 27 percent.

Poe's running mate Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero scored 24 percent while Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo of the Liberal Party obtained 21 percent.

Duterte's running mate, Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano, scored 17 percent while Sen. Gregorio Honasan II of the United Nationalist Alliance and Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV scored 4 percent and 3 percent, respectively.

The survey was conducted from April 5 to 10 among 4,000 people nationwide with a margin error of +/- 1.5 percent.
