MANILA, Philippines – Liberal Party’s (LP's) lone Muslim senatorial candidate Nariman “Ina” Ambolodto on Saturday said LP’s presidential bet Manuel “Mar” Roxas II and vice-presidential candidate Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo will ensure the peace and progress in Mindanao if elected.

Ambolodto said if Roxas and Robredo win, she will help them win the peace in Mindanao by filing a bill on Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL) in the Senate when Congress resumes its session in July.

The Muslim candidate laments that the BBL lacked support outside the Autonomous Region for Muslim Mindanao because the public lacks information about it as well as the contents of the BBL.

She added that the bill she will file shall maintain the peace agreement between the Philippine Government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front without violating the Constitution.

Ambolodto said she is confident the BBL’s passage will likely occur in the next session of the Senate and House of Representatives with an “intensified and more effective information campaign” under the Roxas presidency.
