MANILA, Philippines - The Commission on Elections on Thursday released the initial list of national and local candidates for the May 9 elections.
The poll body said that the initial list is subject to the outcome of the various cases and issues pending.
The list includes eight candidates for president, six candidates for vice president and 52 candidates for senator.
"Any request for correction, if allowed, shall be communicated to the Election Officer concerned in writing until 21 January 2016. The Election Officer shall in turn, submit a memorandum to the Law Department, by the fastest means of communication with regard to the request for correction," the Comelec said.
