OFWs advised to check list of voters
MANILA, Philippines – The Commission on Elections (Comelec) has advised overseas absentee voters to check their names in the Certified List of Overseas Voters.
The Comelec urged overseas Filipino workers to go online and verify if their registrations have been approved by the Resident Election Registration Board (RERB).
“By using this online tool, you can verify if your name has been included in the final list approved by the RERB,” the poll body said.
Those who are in the list of certified voters can cast their votes from April 9 to May 9, according to the Comelec.
Overseas absentee voters should choose the country or consulate where they applied upon logging in to http://www.comelec.gov.ph/?r=OverseasVoting/CLOV to verify if their names are in the official list.
Land-based overseas voters and sea-based Filipinos have separate lists, the Comelec said.
Based on Comelec data, there are a total of 1,376,067 overseas voters registered for this year’s elections.
There are 85 Philippine posts overseas, with 30 set to use the automated election system; 26 will use the personal manual voting system, and another 26 will adopt the postal manual voting system.
