Binay pulls ahead of Poe in latest SWS presidential survey

MANILA, Philippines - Vice President Jejomar Binay remains the top contender for the presidential race, according to the latest Social Weather Station survey.

Binay's rating jumped from 26 percent in December 2015 to 31 percent in January.

Sen. Grace Poe slid to the second place with 24 percent. She and Binay were tied at the top spot in the December 2015 survey.

Liberal Party standard bearer Manuel "Mar" Roxas II ranked third with 21 percent, followed by Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte with 20 percent.

Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago remains at the fifth place with 3 percent.

 

Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero remains the top bet for the presidential race with 28 percent, followed by Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. with 25 percent.

Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo scored 17 percent while Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano got a rating of 14 percent.

Sen. Gregorio "Gringo" Honasan II and Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV scored 8 percent and 3 percent, respectively.

The survey was conducted from January 8 to 10 using face-to-face interviews among 1,200 respondents nationwide.

The respondents were validated voters whose biometrics have been captured digitally.
