MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) on Wednesday recorded four earthquakes which occurred in Davao Occidental, Eastern Samar and Occidental Mindoro.
Two quakes with magnitude 4.2 were recorded in Sarangani, Davao Occidental. The first one occurred at 5:08 a.m. while the second one was recorded at 3:48 p.m.
The second quake recorded in Davao Occidental was felt at Intensity II in General Santos City.
Shortly after the second tremor in Davao Occidental, another earthquake with magnitude 4.8 was recorded at 3:52 p.m. in Eastern Samar. Its epicenter was traced 50 kilometers north east of San Policarpio, Eastern Samar.
In its advisory, Phivolcs said there was also a magnitude 2.1 earthquake recorded in Occidental Mindoro early Wednesday.
The mild quake shook Abra De Ilog, Occidental Mindoro at 2:02 a.m.
Phivolcs said the four earthquakes were tectonic in origin.
It added that there are no damages nor aftershocks reported.
