LIVE: Public interview for Supreme Court justice post
MANILA, Philippines — The Judicial and Bar Council (JBC) on Thursday commenced the public interview of the candidates for the replacement of Supreme Court (SC) associate justice post.
The next high court justice will replace Associate Justice Martin Villarama Jr. who availed of early retirement due to health reasons. His retirement is effective on January 16.
For the morning session, the JBC interviewed University of Manila law school Dean Joe-Santos Bisquera, Justice Secretary Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa, Sandiganbayan Justice Amparo Cabotaje Tang and CIBAC Rep. Cinchona Cruz-Gonzales.

The JBC will resume its interview from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to interview Deputy Ombudsman Gerard Mosquera, Court of Appeals Justices Apolinario Bruselas Jr. and Rosmari Carandang, and Sandiganbayan Justice Maria Cristina Cornejo.
The council also scheduled an interviews on January 8.
