MANILA, Philippines – The cab driver caught in the video complaint of a passenger and his operator went to the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) officials on Wednesday afternoon to address the allegations against him.
The taxi driver in the viral video, identified as Roger Catipay, and his operator, Ariel Gamboa, came to the LTFRB office after they were summoned to answer the complaints raised in a video showing Catipay’s rude behavior.
Facebook user “Jordie Lag” or Joanna Garcia, on Tuesday shared a short clip of Catipay who got mad at her for refusing to pay an additional fare while she rode the taxi with plate number UWB-666.
The video caught the attention of netizens and reached the LTFRB who later on summoned Catipay and Gamboa, through a show cause order issued, for violations of contracting passenger, overcharging of fare, harassment or being arrogant, and making threat to the life of passenger.
