Palace protocol chief named ambassador to Spain
MANILA, Philippines - President Aquino has appointed presidential protocol chief Celia Anna Feria as ambassador to Spain with concurrent jurisdiction over Andorra, Malacañang announced yesterday.
Executive Secretary Paquito Ochoa Jr. transmitted the nomination of Feria to the Commission on Appointments (CA) for confirmation.
Feria, whose appointment papers were signed on Dec. 29, was named protocol chief in 2013. She is a career diplomat who held various positions at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
Malacañang also transmitted to the CA the appointment of Adrian Cristobal Jr. as the new secretary of the Department of Trade and Industry. Cristobal replaced Gregory Domingo whose resignation in September took effect on Dec. 31.
Aquino signed Cristobal’s ad interim appointment on Dec. 22.
The President also named Roberto Cabrera III, former executive director of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, as the new Land Transportation Office (LTO) chief.
Transportation Secretary Joseph Emilio Abaya said former LTO chief Alfonso Tan Jr. resigned last November, citing family reasons.
