Miss Colombia congratulates Pia

MANILA, Philippines - Three days after Miss Universe host Steve Harvey made an epic gaffe by mistakenly announcing that Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez won the beauty title, the beauty queen finally broke her silence.

Gutierrez took to Instagram to share her thoughts on her short-lived reign, thanking everyone who sent her messages of support.

“Every one of you has become an incredible human being in my book and I am the most fortunate and thankful for having the support not only from one country but from the whole entire world,” she wrote.

Miss Colombia also said she was happy that she “was able to bring happiness to my country after becoming Miss Universe for only a couple of minutes.”

“Today because of that, COLOMBIA and the LATIN COMMUNITY are being talked about in every corner of the world,” she added.

Gutierrez also congratulated Wurtzbach for being the true winner.

“The happiness that you must be feeling must be incredible,” Gutierrez said.

“Life continues and in the future, we will find out why things happen the way they happened. Thank you all for your LOVE SUPPORT and KINDNESS,” she added.
