Binay regains top spot in Pulse Asia survey

MANILA, Philippines - Vice President Jejomar Binay regained the top spot in the latest Pulse Asia presidential survey released on Tuesday.

Binay, the presidential candidate of the United Nationalist Alliance, topped the survey with 33 percent.

Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte ranked second with 23 percent, followed by Sen. Grace Poe with 21 percent.

Both Duterte and Poe are facing disqualification cases before the Commission on Elections.

Liberal Party standard bearer Manuel "Mar" Roxas II ranked fourth with 17 percent while Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago scored 4 percent.

Meanwhile, Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero emerged as the top bet for the vice presidential race with 29 percent.

Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. ranked second with 23 percent followed by Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano with 18 percent.

Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo scored 14 percent while Sen. Gregorio "Gringo" Honasan II and Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV scored 9 percent and 4 percent, respectively.

The survey was conducted from December 4 to 11.

Last September, Poe topped the presidential and vice presidential survey for the May 2016 elections.

On the other hand, Duterte topped the presidential survey among Metro Manila residents conducted last November.
