APEC Schools to offer affordable K to 12 programs

Janvic Mateo - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Ayala-led Affordable Private Education Center Inc. (APEC) Schools has announced plans to offer affordable senior high school programs, which may be covered by vouchers issued by the Department of Education (DepEd).

In a statement, APEC Schools said it would offer Grades 11 and 12 in at least 16 of its 24 branches in Metro Manila and Region IV-A.

Tuition at APEC branches in Metro Manila is pegged at an all-in price of P22,500, while tuition in Calabarzon branches is P17,500.

The tuition is equivalent to the full value of the vouchers that will be issued by DepEd to public Grade 10 students who will enroll in senior high school programs offered by private schools.

“From our facilities and the employment of competent, qualified and motivated teachers to our unique curriculum, the APEC Schools program strikes the right balance between financial and educational considerations,” APEC Schools chief executive officer Beth Lui said.

“This is made possible by using a variety of DepEd-approved measures to keep tuition affordable without compromising the students’ development and training,” she added.

Lui said the APEC Schools program is K to 12 compliant and operates with approval from the DepEd.

“It offers a focus on knowledge, skills and values formation to give students from middle- and lower-income families the chance to graduate from junior and senior high school,” she said.

APEC Schools said students would benefit from programs co-developed with Ayala Education’s employer partner network, which includes companies such as BPI, Globe Telecom, Ayala Land, Manila Water, Accenture and Convergys.
