Spain is Miss World; Philippines in Top 10

MANILA, Philippines - Miss Philippines representative Hillarie Parungao landed in the Top 10 of the 2015 Miss World Pageant held at the Beauty Crown Grand Theater in Sanya, China last night.

Parungao also won the Multimedia competition.

Mireia Lalaguna Royo, a 23-year-old professional model from Barcelona, was declared the winner of the annual pageant.

She beat out first runner-up Miss Russia Sofia Nikitchuk and second runner-up Miss Indonesia Maria Harfanti.

Miss Lebanon Valerie Abou Charca and Miss Jamaica Sanneta Myrie rounded out the Top 5.

This year’s competitors were scored in a variety of challenges, including Beauty with a Purpose, Multimedia, Sports, Talent, and Top Model. They also each faced interviews with the judges in groups of four.

Aside from the Philippines, the other Top 10 candidates who made it to the semifinal were Russia, Guyana, Lebanon, Jamaica, France, South Africa, and Australia.
