MANILA, Philippines – The 40-member Party-list Coalition Foundation, a party-list bloc in the House of Representatives, threw its support behind six senatorial candidates – including incumbent members of the chamber – and pledged up to 15 million votes to ensure their victory.
It endorsed yesterday the senatorial bids of Reps. Sherwin Gatchalian of Valenzuela City; Samuel Pagdilao of the ACT-CIS party-list group; Cresente Paez of Coop-Natcco; and Ferdinand Martin Romualdez of Leyte. It also endorsed Risa Hontiveros, former Akbayan representative, and Joel Villanueva, former technical education and skills chief.
The group failed to endorse Reps. Manny Pacquiao of Sarangani, Neri Colmenares of Bayan Muna party-list and Roman Romulo of Pasig City.
Butil party-list Rep. Agapito Guanlao, the bloc’s acting president, said the three House members were not endorsed as the bloc agreed to support only the top six choices of their members based on a poll.
