MANILA, Philippines - PAGASA on Monday warned of possible storm surges in five provinces in the Bicol and Eastern Visayas regions as Typhoon "Nona" maintains its strength.
The state weather bureau warned that storm surges of up to 4 meters are possible in the Samar-Sorsogon area.

At 9 a.m., the typhoon was located 95 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar. It is expected to make landfall in Sorsogon early Monday night and will cross Albay province toward Burias Island.
