Philippine Ports Authority general manager resigns

MANILA, Philippines – The Philippine Ports Authority (PPA) on Tuesday announced that PPA General Manager Juan “Boy” Sta. Ana already tendered his resignation.

Sta. Ana will only stay with the PPA until the end of December.

He was appointed by President Benigno Aquino III to replace retired PPA General Manager Oscar Sevilla on July 13, 2010.

Sta. Ana earlier served as manager of the Port District of Manila, PPA from 1988 to 1995. He also served the Department of Transportation and Communications  as technical assistant to the secretary, executive director of the transportation cooperatives, and corporate secretary in several corporation under the DOTC before he returned to PPA 15 years later.

Prior to his government appointment as PPA chief, Sta. Ana  also served as a senior vice president of one of the largest construction companies, F.F. Cruz & Co. Inc and vice president of several F.F. Cruz subsidiary corporations such as Freysinet Filipinas Corp. And F.F. Marine Corp.

Reports said Sta. Ana will return to work in the private sector.
