DND to start bidding on night fighting systems
MANILA, Philippines – The Department of National Defense (DND) is set to start the bidding on the procurement of over 4,000 brand new units of night fighting systems this month.
As the DND allocated P1.1 billion to acquire 4,464 brand new units of night fighting systems, the agency already scheduled the pre-bid conference on December 10 while its bid opening is slated on December 22.
Both pre-bid conference and bid opening will be held 10 a.m., at the DND bidding awards committee conference room, left wing basement, DND Building, Camp Aguinaldo Quezon City.
DND did not specify the equipment that will be purchased. Night fighting systems usually include night vision goggles and rifle targeting systems that can illuminate targets at night.
“Winning bidders are required to deliver the items within 180 calendar days,” DND bids and awards committee chair Assistant Secretary Ernesto Boac said.
Interested bidders are required to have completed similar project within the last five years.
Meanwhile, DND said the P1.1 billion budget for the acquisition of night fighting systems will be sourced from its Capability Upgrade Program 2013 to 2017.
