No Pinoy casualty in California shooting
MANILA, Philippines - No Filipino was injured when a heavily armed man and woman stormed a holiday gathering for employees at a social services facility in San Bernardino, California, killing at least 14 people, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) said yesterday.
“So far we have not received report of Filipinos to be among the victims in the shooting,” DFA spokesman Charles Jose said in a text message.
Police identified the suspects as Syed Rizwan Farook and Tashfeen Malik, who were killed in a shootout with police after a car chase.
Farook, who worked as an environmental specialist, had been at a holiday party and training event for the San Bernardino Department of Public Health.
