"Sa Climate Vulnerable Forum naman po, magsisilbi tayong kinatawan ng mga bansang pangunahing naaapektuhan ng dumadalas at lumalakas na bugso ng kalamidad na dulot ng pagbabago sa klima," Aquino said in his speech before departing for his trip to France on Sunday night.
Aquino noted that concerned parties failed to reach a consensus during a climate change conference in Copenhagen, Denmark in 2009.
"Magandang pagkakataon po ang mga pagtitipon sa Paris upang muling humakbang at idiin ang halaga ng pagkakaisa ukol sa climate change," Aquino said.
The president will also deliver the keynote speech at the Climate Vulnerable Forum (CVF), in which he is the chairperson. The CVF is an international partnership among 20 developing countries most threatened by climate change.
Aquino will also visit Rome, Italy and the Vatican after attending the Climate Change Summit in Paris. He is set to invite European investors to take advantage of the Philippine economy.
