MANILA, Philippines - China on Monday confirmed that President Xi Jinping will attend the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Summit in Manila.
"At the invitation of President Benigno Simeon Aquino III of the Republic of the Philippines, President Xi Jinping will attend the 23rd APEC Economic Leaders' Meeting in Manila, the Philippines from November 17 to 19," Chinese Ministry Spokesperson Lu Kang said in a statement.
Russian President Vladimir Putin, United States President Barack Obama and 18 other heads of state have confirmed their attendance at the upcoming APEC Summit, which will be hosted by the Philippines.

Aquino is set to give the barong Tagalog, the Philippines's national garb for men, to leaders attending the summit.
Meanwhile, the Metro Manila Development Authority has installed plastic barriers along special lanes to be used by APEC delegates and the attending heads of state.
