MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Alan Peter Cayetano on Wednesday revealed that he will wait in filing his certificate of candidacy for vice president "until the last minute" as he is still hoping that Davao City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte will run for president.
"I'm waiting 'til the last minute and we're praying na magbago ang isip ni Mayor Duterte. He is the candidate that will really be a game changer," Cayetano said in an interview with ANC's Headstart.
Last Monday, Duterte reiterated that he will not seek the presidency in 2016.

Duterte said that he is still considering reelection as Davao City mayor if his daughter Sara does not agree to run for mayor.
"I am committed to him whether or not he chooses me as his running mate. So until the last minute we're hoping that we can file together," Cayetano said.
Cayetano also clarified that he is not the running mate of Sen. Miriam Defensor Santiago, who announced her presidential bid on Tuesday.
Santiago said her running mate has already announced his vice presidential bid but refused to identify him.
Cayetano ruled out Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV as Santiago's running mate, pointing out that he has already expressed his support for independent presidential aspirant Sen. Grace Poe.
"I really don't know but I wish them well," Cayetano said when asked if Sen. Ferdinand "Bongbong" Marcos Jr. was the running mate of Santiago.
Marcos filed his certificate of candidacy for vice president on Tuesday as an independent candidate.
