Drilon: Sexy girls incident in Laguna event an isolated case

MANILA, Philippines - Senate President and Liberal Party (LP) stalwart Franklin Drilon, on Friday said the incident in a party event in Laguna where a sexy dancer gyrated with a man on stage was just an "isolated case."
Drilon, an LP vice chair, also echoed the earlier statement of the party standard bearer, Mar Roxas II, that the party leadership will look into the incident.
"I join the LP leadership in vowing to the public that we will get to the bottom of this incident. We will not let the good name of the LP be besmirched with this sorry, isolated case," Drilon said in a statement.
He said that LP members should always uphold the principles espoused by the administration's 'Daang Matuwid' (straight path).
"That sort of lewd and exploitative gimmickry is not befitting and is unacceptable of members of the Liberal Party.
"As sworn adherents of the 'Tuwid na Daan' form of reformist politics, LP members are expected to display upstanding and morally upright behavior. Those who fail to prove to the nation that they are good and morally responsible public servants have no place in our ranks," he said.
