Retailers increase price of cooking gas
MANILA, Philippines - Retailers of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) raised the price of cooking gas yesterday.
Petron Corp. raised the price of LPG by P1.65 per kilogram at 6 a.m. yesterday.
The country’s largest oil refiner also hiked the price of AutoLPG by P0.95 per liter.
“These reflect the hike in international LPG contract prices for the month of October,” Petron said in a text advisory late Wednesday.
In an e-mail advisory, Eastern Petroleum Corp. said it would increase the price of its EC Gas, its liquefied petroleum gas product, by P1.65 per kilogram or P18.15 for an 11-kilogram effective 12:01 a.m.
Following the price adjustment, EC Gas cylinders now trade at an average of P558.65 to P578.65.
Eastern Petroleum said the latest price movement reflects the uptrend in international contract price of LPG in September.
The Department of Energy (DOE)’s latest oil monitoring showed the price range of an 11-kilogram LPG cylinder is between P417 and P640.
