Trillanes to declare VP bid, support for Poe
MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Antonio Trillanes is set to declare his support for the presidential bid of Sen. Grace Poe on Saturday.
The Magdalo group will hold its general membership meeting where Trillanes will formally declare his vice presidential bid, according to an advisory.
Trillanes will formally announce his 2016 bid at the Amoranto Sports Complex in Quezon City.
Meanwhile, Poe expressed her gratitude to the Magdalo group for declaring its support for her.
"Ako ay nagpapasalamat ukol dito, salamat. Basta ako ay nagpapasalamat sa mga grupong nagtitiwala hindi ko rin naman akalain na makakarating din naman ako sa Senado," Poe said during an ambush interview on Wednesday.
Poe has already chosen Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero as her running mate for the 2016 national elections.
