'Jenny' to exit PAR by Tuesday
MANILA, Philippines - Typhoon "Jenny" (international name "Dujuan") slightly accelerated as it continues to head outside the Philippine area of responsibility, weather bureau PAGASA said on Monday.
It is expected to exit the country by Tuesday morning
At 7:00 a.m., the typhoon was located 365 northeast of Itbayat, Batanes with winds of 185 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 220 kph. It is likely to move west northwest at 19 kph.
Public storm warning signal no. 1 is raised over the Batanes Group of Islands. Wave height may reach 1.25 to 4 meters in the open sea.
Moderate to heavy rainfall is expected within the 600-kilometer diameter of the typhoon.
Ilocos, Cordillera, Cagayan Valley, Central Luzon, Metro Manila, Mimaropa, Calabarzon and the island of Panay will experience light to moderate rains due to the typhoon and the southwest monsoon or "habagat."
The weather bureau advised fisher folk not to venture over the seaboards of Northern Luzon, the eastern seaboard of central and southern Luzon and the seaboards of Samar.
