Typhoon 'Jenny' enters PAR

MANILA, Philippines — Typhoon "Jenny" (international name "Dujuan") entered the Philippine area of responsibility on Wednesday evening, according to weather bureau PAGASA.

At 4:00 a.m. on Thursday, the typhoon was located 1,280 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan.

The typhoon packs maximum sustained winds of 85 kilometers per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 100 kph. It is likely to move west northwest at 7 kph.

PAGASA has not yet raised public storm warning signals in any part of the country.

The storm is not expected to make landfall but will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon or "habagat" will affect Visayas and Mindanao.

Cagayan Valley, MIMAROPA, Bicol region, Visayas, Zamboanga peninsula, northern Mindanao, Caraga and the provinces of Cavite and Batangas will experience cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated thunderstorms.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon will experience partly cloudy to cloduy skies with isolated thunderstorms.
