MANILA, Philippines - The Philippine National Police (PNP) needs 4,121 new police officers this year.
Sr. Supt. Rolando Hinanay, chief of the Recruitment and Selection Division of the Directorate for Personnel and Records Management (DPRM), said the PNP is allowed to hire 10,000 police officers 1 for 2015.
“We have recruited 5,879 PO1s so we need 4,121 more before the year ends,” Hinanay said.
Applicants should be Filipino citizens, 21 to 30 years old, with good moral character and have passed the psychological, drug and physical tests.
“Applicant must be a college graduate and must pass any of the eligibility such as the PNP entrance exams,” he added.
Hinanay said applicants must not have been discharged from the military or dismissed from government offices and not convicted by final judgment of any crime.
Male applicants should be at least 5’ 4” tall and females at least 5’2”.
The DPRM has processed the promotion of 14,462 PNP members from PO2 to superintendent. The promotion of 5,694 police officers has been referred to the Civil Service Commission.
