NDRRMC: 'Ineng' death toll rises to 7

MANILA, Philippines - The death toll due to typhoon Ineng (Goni) on Saturday rose to seven, the National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) said.
The NDRRMC reported the latest casualties - Glen Polok Baldasan, 27, of Manyakan,Benguet and Michael Martin Lagasan, of Cervantes, Ilocos Sur - in its 11 a.m. update.
Both Baldasan and Lagasan were killed in landslides, the NDRRMC report said.
The NDRRMC also said there were five persons injured in Mt. Province, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur and Batanes due to inclement weather.
It reported that two persons - Jubert Bumatay of La Union and Jay-Ar Millari of Ilocos Norte - have been missing since August 20.
Meanwhile, the NDRRMC said that more than 5,000 persons or over 1,000 families in Regions 1, 2 and Cordillera Administrative Region were affected by the typhoon.
Of affected population, 420 families were brought to evacuation areas, the state emergency response body said.
The NDRRMC said that 13 domestic flights were cancelled due to the typhoon which is expected to exit the country on Tuesday.
