MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Grace Poe on Thursday said she always tries to follow the footsteps of her late father, Fernando Poe Jr.
"The kind of person that he is, his sincerity, his humility, his generosity, these are the things that I would like to emulate at all times," Poe told members of the press during an ambush interview.
The senator, however, clarified that following her father's footsteps does not necessarily include his decisions such as running for president.
Poe stressed that entering politics is a sacrifice as it involves dealing with national issues.
The senator expressed her gratitude to her supporters despite the fact that she has not yet announced her plans for the 2016 national elections.
Poe added that she prays that her father's advocacy would serve as a guidance in making her decision in relation to next year's polls.
Poe's son, Brian Poe Llamanzares, revealed that his mom is seriously considering running for a higher position in the 2016 polls.
The senator currently tops the latest presidential and vice presidential preference polls.
