MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Grace Poe and Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero are set to meet with members of the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC) for the third time.
Last Tuesday, the two senators met with NPC lawmakers from Visayas and Mindanao at the Quezon City residence of the party's founder, businessman Eduardo "Danding" Cojuangco Jr.
According to a report, Poe felt more encouraged after the second meeting as members of the NPC vowed to support her candidacy.
The first meeting was on August 11 where Poe and Escudero also met with NPC members from Luzon.
Poe and Escudero are expected to meet with local officials from the NPC for the third meeting.
The NPC is the second biggest political party in the country, next to the Liberal Party (LP). It currently has two senators, 44 congressmen, 14 governors, 22 city mayors and 217 municipal mayors.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Mar Roxas, the presumptive presidential candidate of the LP, also met with NPC lawmakers to avoid rifts between the two political parties.
Roxas earlier invited Poe to run as his vice president for the 2016 national elections. However, the senator is yet to decide on her plans for next year's polls.
