Sotto: Poe 80% percent sure of presidential bid
MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Grace Poe is 70 to 80 percent decided to run for president in the 2016 national elections, Sen. Vicente "Tito" Sotto III said on Tuesday.
"Sa ngayon, 80-20 minimum 70-30...either 70 go, 30 no... Depende. Ayokong magsalita ng tapos, dapat si Grace ang magdesisyon, hindi ako nakikialam," Sotto said in an an interview with radio dzMM.
Sotto, a member of the Nationalist People's Coalition (NPC), Poe might announce her final decision for the 2016 polls before the end of September.
Sotto added that he will support Poe if ever she decides to seek the presidency in 2016.
The NPC, the second largest political party in the country, also supported the presidential bid of Poe's late father, Fernando Poe Jr., in the 2004 elections.
Majority of the members of the NPC are in favor of the possible candidacy of Poe for president and Sen. Francis "Chiz" Escudero for vice president.
Last Tuesday, the political party invited Poe and Escudero in its private meeting for the 2016 national elections.
