Poe hoping for fair, objective Senate electorate tribunal

MANILA, Philippines - Sen. Grace Poe remains hopeful that Senate electoral tribunal (SET) will be fair and objective in handling the disqualification case filed against her.

Sa tingin ko marami sa kanila ay patas talaga," Poe told members of the press during an ambush interview on Monday.

Last week, losing senatorial candidate Rizalito David filed a complaint before the SET seeking to unseat Poe. The senator allegedly failed to meet the residency and citizenship requirements of her office.

The senator sees the complaint filed against her as an opportunity to clarify her citizenship and residency issues.

However, Poe remains doubtful of the intentions of David for filing the disqualification case against her.

In relation to this, Poe filed Senate Bill 2892 or an Act Strengthening the System of Birth Registration of Children in Need of Special Protection.
