Pinoys in Taiwan safe after typhoon

MANILA, Philippines - More than 86,000 Filipinos in Taiwan are safe after Super Typhoon Soudelor battered the island, the government said yesterday.

Based on the latest report, no Filipino has been hurt, according to Labor Secretary Rosalinda Baldoz.  

Officials of the Department of Labor and Employment have checked the Filipino community in Taiwan and learned that all of them remain safe, she added.

About 10 people were killed and hundreds were hurt when San Pedro Calungsod of Migrants Mission Station was heavily damaged after Soudelor hit Taiwan, according to reports.
