MANILA, Philippines - Improved weather condition is expected in many parts of the Philippines in the next few days as Typhoon Hanna (Soudelor) weakened and continued to move away from the country, government meteorologists said yesterday.
Gener Quitlong, weather forecaster of the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA), said no tropical cyclone or low pressure area is expected to affect the country till midweek.
However, the southwest monsoon, which was being enhanced by Hanna, would continue to bring rains over Northern Luzon, particularly Laoag, Ilocos Norte and Pangasinan today, Quitlong said.
He said occasional rains would also prevail over Visayas and MIMAROPA (Mindoro-Marinduque-Romblon-Palawan) region as well as in the provinces of Zambales and Bataan.
