Marwan-trained bomber arrested in Misamis Occidental
CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines – A suspect in several bombings in North Cotabato, reportedly trained by Malaysian terrorist and bomb maker Zulkifli bin Hir, alias Marwan, was arrested by the Misamis Occidental provincial police on Saturday afternoon.
The Panaon municipal police station received information about Abdulmalik Serapica Salik and immediately established a checkpoint that resulted in the suspect’s arrest, Misamis Occidental provincial director Archival Diokno Macala said.
Salik is reportedly a member of the Alkhobar group, which is under an umbrella organization led by Marwan.
A warrant for Salik’s arrest was issued by the Maguindanao Regional Trial Court for multiple murder and multiple attempted murder in connection with several bombings in Kidapawan, North Cotabato.
